Around 507 BC, Acharya Adi Shankara — a very embodiment of Lord Shiva — descended upon this sacred land and established the four Amnaya Peethams to protect Sanatana Dharma for eternity.
Govardhan Math at Jagannath Puri presides over the eastern direction, associated with the Rigveda, the Mahavakya "Prajñānam Brahma", and the presiding deity Purushottam (Lord Jagannath). Padmapadacharya was appointed the first Shankaracharya.

He has delivered discourses at IIT Kanpur, IIM Kolkata, IIM Ahmedabad, ISRO, DRDO, BARC, AIIMS, and the Supreme Court. He advised ISRO scientists for the Chandrayaan-2 Moon Mission using Vedic Mathematics.
